Writing babbles

So as I’m nearing the end of finishing this WIP, I’m getting more excited. Plans for next week. Get started on edits for Worth The Price, send to editor and finally get started on Fanning the Flames. For me the most stressful part of writing is editing the rough draft. I’m always happy and relieved to have a rough draft finished. But then I take a look at it, and it’s like “What the hell. Oh boy.” I know I have my work cut out for me, fixing up sentences, plot and such. So then I get terrified, procrastinate, do everything but start on the file, until I just have to force myself to start. But once that’s over, I love love love polishing. Fixing up sentences even more, finding better words to use. Then off it goes to the publisher and I feel a big sigh of relief. A few weeks or months of not looking at the manuscript gives fresh perspective. So then I start really looking forward to edits from the editor. THAT is my favorite part.

Needless to say that’s why I’m excited for next week. Starting on changes from my editor and beginning a new book, putting Caleb and Josie down on paper, as they have been in my head since last September. Once edits for Worth The Price is finished, it’ll be on to also starting book 2 in the Hart’s Fall series. It feels nice to be busy with writing but scary to think of never finishing a project.

And in other news… I made a new friend today. Another IR couple bw/wm recently  moved in across the street from us. She is from Africa and seems really nice, they also have a son around the same age as my youngest. I find it kinda funny that even in this tiny little German town, I can still see IR couples.
