Just wanted to let you all know if I go quiet, it’s because I woke up this morning and my computer started acting up…again. It’s a MacBook Pro. Thought it was supposed to be near indestructible, but I have a bad history with computers and technology. I’m actually surprised it’s letting me type this out without stopping. Anyway, I hope the problem goes away soon. Would really, really hate to have to shell out cash for a new comp *bangs head*. Is there such a thing as a person unlucky with computers? I don’t know. But I’m not sure what I did wrong that could have damaged this computer or all the others I’ve had over the years. I don’t download stuff except for things having to do with my writing, this is supposed to be almost virus proof, so I just don’t know 😦
Have you been regularly cleaning out the vents with compressed air? If the fan gets clogged or dust gets in the computer, it can ruin it. After I started cleaning it weekly, I haven’t had a problem since…
Hi Renee. I have to be honest and say I haven’t done that. I just give it a wipe down but I know now that’s not enough. My husband managed to do some magic and fix it again, so I have my fingers crossed I won’t have any problems for this year. Thanks for the advice 🙂
Sorry you are having trouble again..I hope thins get sorted out…Computers seem to find the worst time to act up..
Thanks, Savannah. I’m back online so it’s sorted out for now! And yes it is always the worst time. Just glad I had everything backed up.
maybe you should get it checked at a computer store, that always beats by buying a new macbook/pc/laptop
That’s a good idea, but the sad thing is there isn’t a professional close to where I live who is certified to work on Mac. I just have to trust my husband since he’d been an Apple user since he was a teen and I was just a mere child playing in dirt, lol.
Have you been cleaning the hard drive regularly, spyware is store in the computer and those can cause virus and temporary files too. I wish you luck it sucks when your computer acts up.
Oneka, at this point I am becoming suspicious that somehow my use of Microsoft Word is the source of the problem. Maybe there is some sort of spyware, malware, whatever you wanna call it, that might contribute to the problem. I don’t know what to do since MS Word is the go to software for writing.
