On Saturday, Sunday and yesterday, hubby and I spent those entire days, working outside. We live smack dab in the middle of a little city and what that means is no backyard. Whenever the kids want to just hang out outside, I have to take them to the playground or somewhere in the city center. Thankfully it’s all just a couple minutes away by foot. But still, there’s no privacy and sometimes it’s just too crowded.
The house we live in was constructed in the middle ages, but was redone to house apartments for two families. Behind the house is/was a dilapidated area where livestock used to be kept. Me, all I saw was a mess, hubby saw a garden in the making. So for those days, we did a lot of cleaning up and planting. The area looks completely different now, although we still have more work to do. We put up a fence around it, got rid of the junk and planted flowers. The kids are excited to have a backyard now and so are we, since hubby loves to grill and we haven’t been able to do that since we moved here. So that was my weekend and what we’ll be working on this coming weekend again. I’ll take some pictures of it, although I wish I had taken a before shot too. Oh well.
As for writing, I’m working on edits this week for Worth The Price. I have to complete those send it to the editor and everything is based on when we can both get them completed. I don’t want to put a date and then not have it ready by then. So that’s why I haven’t posted it. However, I am aiming for an August release.
The freebie that I’m working on is completed, just letting it sit for a few days then go back over it and send it off. Then I’ll get started on the next two books in the lineup. That’s pretty much the plan for summer.
It is nice to spend time outside, fresh air and a break from everything else. Woohooo on edits and getting the other story done. Can’t wait to read it.
Yep. Amazing how relaxed one can feel with a nice cool breeze and sunshine. Just wish we had more of the sunshine part!
The city center looks totally gorgeous. I can’t imagine living in a building that was built in the Middle Ages. Wow. Yes – post some photos when you finish your yard!
I think the majority of buildings here were built during that time period. Even the churches here have those little slits where you can tell arrows used to be fired from. I’m a big history buff so I love it here and I’ll definitely post pics.
I cannot believe you live in such a cute town, you are so lucky to have so much within walking distance. We have to drive everywhere. We have very few sidewalks and no bike lanes. Please do take pictures when you are done. Even though I am “chomping at the bit” for your next book, I will wait, if it means you can enjoy your family and home! Hugs, Maureen
Trust me, Maureen, I appreciate it. I love to walk, always clears my head. Everywhere I go around here I walk, except when we need to do clothes shopping, we have to drive into a bigger town. But schools, doctors, shops, even a hospital are all less than 15 minutes away from any direction of the city center. I’m chomping at the bits too to get the book done while fitting in time to relax and enjoy being with the family. Take care 🙂
